Monday mornings are difficult. Especially when the Mondays get closer to Thanksgiving. Therefore, I set the goal to be positive today and give that energy off to others if possible. Well, entering the building started very well. Everyone that I passed said good morning and asked about the weekend. Students seemed to be smiling as they came into the school. It was really a great way to start Monday. On top of that this week is Teacher Appreciation week so parents had breakfast set up for the teachers. So, it was a day filled with positive energy.
One of the best things that happened today was a surprise for a group of the students. Three students from the high school came over to read to them. They gathered all of the children in the Pod together in one area. Then the readers stood up with a big book and read to them. The children's faces completely told the story of positive. They loved every moment. At the end of the story, the clapped and cheered as if they had seen a Broadway Production. It really brightened my day to see such great energy. One of the teachers in that particular Pod made the arrangements because it is American Education Week. Her plan provided am Instructional Strategy that helped sparks student's interest in reading.
